"He is more high-profile than Balotelli – he’s one of the top players in the world": Mario's ex secretly dating Premier League rival
"He is a bit of a player", reveals Holly Henderson. "He would make me go to random locations with a dark wig over my blonde hair"
Mario Balotelli’s ex-lover has confessed to a secret affair with one of his arch-rivals... who makes her wear a dark wig when they go out in public.
And blonde Holly Henderson has revealed how her new soccer star love began bombarding her with phone messages while he was still married.
The 33-year-old WAG, who is Wayne Rooney’s second cousin, initially refused to go on a date with the international footballer.
But she eventually gave in and says she’s now in a serious relationship with the player.
Holly’s revelations in this month’s Loaded magazine will kick off a guessing game among football fans who yesterday welcomed the return of the Premiership.
“I have had some romantic time with another footballer,” Holly said. “He is more high-profile than Balotelli – he’s one of the top players in the world.
“I happened to like him. But I never tried to be in a relationship with him because I never expected him to be monogamous.
“He was after my BBM (BlackBerry Messenger PIN) for a long time and I originally refused as he was married.
"He is a bit of a player but he was really nice to me. He would pester my mates for my PIN after the story about me and Mario came out.
"These footballer types always want to get one up on each other. I only gave it him out of courtesy.”
Holly has been dating the star, who plays for his country, for many months. And she says on their first few dates he got her to use “MI6 style-tactics” to keep their relationship under wraps.
She said: “He would make me go to random locations with a dark wig over my blonde hair.
“When there I would have to text a special number for one of his drivers who would drive past to make sure I was not being followed by photographers.
“I’d then receive a text back from his driver to tell me the registration plate of the car once he was happy I wasn’t being tailed.
“People might think it sounds seedy, but I felt like I was in MI6 training school.”
Holly dated famously eccentric Balotelli last year while he was still involved with long-term Italian girlfriend Raffaella Fico.
It later emerged he even proposed marriage to Holly. But she eventually got fed up with him constantly texting and ringing her.
She said: “I’d had a bit of a bad time before I met Mario, and we just got talking. I didn’t know who he was at first, but we got on quite well, I was flirting, and we swapped numbers.”
But she was soon annoyed by the constant stream of texts and calls from the 22-year-old Italian.
“The next day he was straight on it and BBM-ing me asking for my number and from then on it was calls and texts like, ‘Come and see me, come and see me’ and I thought, ‘I know where this was going’.
“He was saying, ‘You’re always too busy for me, you’re always going to modelling shoots.’
Holly, who has two sons aged 10 and 14, added: “He was always texting me and one day the kids saw and they were like, ‘Mum, is that Balotelli?’
"They thought it was brilliant. My youngest is a Man City fan and Mario is his favourite.”
The affair fizzled out in May when Mario accused her of using their relationship to boost her own fame. “I was a bit offended by that and after an argument on the phone, we never spoke again.”
Liverpool-born Holly, who got death threats from soccer fans following her fling with Balotelli, says she is keen to shake off her WAG image.
She told Loaded: “For the past five years I’ve been studying forensic psychology so I’ve been going to Liverpool University.
“I have two sides to me – I love the modelling industry, but I’m intelligent and want to feed that. I want to make my dad proud. He was a bit angry about the Mario thing... but he said at least it wasn’t a Man United player. I’m not going to do this forever and I want to make my kids proud too. I’m not a thick WAG... and I can prove it!”
